Aunt Shirley's Visit

"Aunt" Shirley, Janet's college friend of 41 years, came to visit right before we all had to see Gail off to Papua New Guinea once more. Here the two are pictured at the airport in Seattle before we all got teary.

The last time Shirley was here, Emma was only a month old, and now she's a very grown up four year old!

There were three new "greats" for Shirley to meet - here's Jessie - the Smith who had been added to the family since the last visit.Great Grandma came along to see Gail off, and we got to overnight at the Smiths, where Emma involved her in "playing fireworks" with the dolls.

Brad & Lindsey's family joined us and church friends at the park on the Columbia River for a picnic. Here are Shirley and Spencer. Later we were all at our house for some games and fireworks. Here we were sneaking in a quick games of cards.

Jake was with us for a few days, joining with his cousins to remind us that the fireworks were "what it was all about." Here are Shirley and Wesley in our front yard ready to watch Brad set some off. Both Wesley and Spencer had been added to Brad & Lindsey's family since Shirley's last visit.
Lined up ready to watch the show!
After all that excitement was over and Shirley had left for CA, we got Jake an early birthday present of his choice - no surprise that he chose Legos! He was a whiz at putting together this creation! It wasn't an easy job, but he persevered until it was complete!

We never did finish that card game did we? I am pretty sure that I wasn't winning... so that's probably okay.
