October 2010

Early in October, we attended the 75th anniversary reunion at Corban University in Salem Oregon. We attended when it was Western Baptist Bible College in the late 1960's and it was then located in El Cerrito, CA. The name has changed a few times and it has grown considerably over the years. Gail is a 1994 graduate, Brad and Lindsey both graduated from there in 2002, and Carol will be getting a degree from the Corban graduate school (was Northwest Baptist Seminary) in the spring.
Here is the banner on the clock tower.

The clock tower is only a few years old - one of the improvements to the Salem campus.

Lon with high school/college friend, Tom Carlson, who now is the president of the board of Corban University. They were roommates at the El Cerrito campus one year. Tom attended the same church we did in Lynnwood, WA.

Paul Hayes Wenell also attended the Lynnwood church - and a few years later she and her husband, Gary, were back there where he served as pastor in the 1970's. Gail attended the church they pastored in Salem when she was at the College there, and they have been very supportive of her mission work. We enjoyed catching up with them.
