House Progress

When we got back from camping, Lon couldn't wait to get back to work on the cabinets! He has all the doors made for the kitchen and bathroom vanities now and most of the drawers are in. We just got the crown molding for the top of the kitchen cabinets yesterday and when we get back from Adam's wedding, he'll be attaching that. Here are some pictures of the project as of Aug. 6. Our antique kitchen cabinet will fit in that space on the wall between the pantry on the left and the set of drawers and cupboard on the right.

The stove and microwave will fit in that white part below a cabinet - and the refrigerator will go against the green wall to the right of that. The island will have seating space on the far end.

The sink will be right under the window and the diswasher to the left of the sink. Some tile is planned for the backsplash between the countertop and the bottom of the upper cabinets.
Here is the beginning of the raised hearth - just to show you he's doing everything "from scratch" so to speak.

Very nice!

I didn't know you were building in a special place for the kitchen queen! (or maybe I just wasn't listening)

It's looking good!
