March 1st already!

Those who occasionally check our blog may be wondering if we're on an extended vacation. We're not - we've just been sick some and preferring personal e-mail messages to this type of communication. However, we DO love seeing what others have on your blogs, so it is time to add something to ours.

We said farewell to 2007 and welcomed 2008 with friends for games and goodies. We watched fireworks across the Columbia River from our windows at midnight, as we tried to figure what was happening with the show from the Space Needle on TV. People were looking pretty perky for 12:20 in the morning!

We have received plenty of snow this year - kind of a pain to try to keep cleared - but oh so beautiful. We are truly appreciating the views from our new home. Here is an early morning shot when the sun was rising and the moon (pictured) was setting.

We went to visit the Smiths for a day to celebrate little Jessie's second birthday. Carol thought it would be fun to all go rollerskating the afternoon were were there. I think she remembers us in our younger days! Lon skated - along with all but the youngest of the Smiths. The two Jessies and Grandma Janet didn't skate, but we enjoyed being there together. Here are Great Grandma Jessie and little Jessie before the outing.

Then on to one of Lon's accomplishment - the sewing/craft area in the laundry room with the completed cabinets

Today we really had wind, and we were entertained by the tumbleweeds rolling around in the driveway. Here are some that got lodged in the railing and next to the porch. Our neighbors to the south are probably thrilled that our house is now in place to stop the tumbleweeds from coming onto their property!

Great update! I thought you might have quit blogging. Maybe you will inspire your daughters.

I like the tumbleweeds!
