A May Posting Before the Month Ends!!

Janet's brother, Ron, came from Phoenix to visit Mama for Mother's Day, staying a few days. He and Jessie posed for this picture right before he left to return to Seattle and other stops on his visit to WA.

Here's a picture of our spirea in full bloom - its first year of being "really showy."

On the morning of May 14 this phenomenon presented itself in the sky for a few minutes - kind of a horizontal rainbow. It doesn't show in the picture as well as it looked when registering directly from my eyes to my brain, but there it is anyway. :-) Our neighbor was working in her expansive garden and commented that it must have a very special meaning!

We've been setting out a few more plants in the last couple weeks and putting together some flowers in pots to enjoy throughout the spring, summer and fall. Our berry bushes are doing well after their transplanting last year that kind of shocked them out of being very productive last summer.

Last Thursday was our awards night to celebrate the end of another year of AWANA, so we have a three month break for the summer from that activity. We just need to enjoy every minute of summer, as we know the time will speed past. We are excited about a visit from Gail that starts next week and lasts through mid July!!

That Spirea is amazing! We've been out in the garden too, we had several plants die from our hard winter, sigh...

Have fun with Gail, that's great!
