Today Lon had his 8th round of chemo, and the reports were good once more!! His CA19-9 number was down to 23 (from 36 two weeks ago, and from 43, 78,87,126, & 435 before chemo started.) Since he is responding well to the treatment and handling the side effects okay, his doctor wants him to continue the same regimen - chemo every other week. He really is feeling pretty good - not as tired as he was and able to tackle a few projects. We are looking forward to Gail joining us for Christmas for a month - so we will have all our kids and grandkids together for some special times!
We were blessed to have much of the family here on and around Thanksgiving Day. Our seating arrangement was different, and a bit of a surprise to most as they had to match their named puzzle piece to the one at their place setting. Some of the young adults were pleased to see they had no parenting responsibilities during the meal. :-) One of them said, "Hey, I'm sitting at the kids' table!" Then they realized there were no other young kids there.
All the grandkids were at the grandparents' table in the dining room.
Here's a picture of some of the exciting game playing - Grandpa Lon playing the Snail's Pace Race with Jessie. We always have Aunt Gail in mind when we play this game, since she is such a lover of snails!!
