We had reservations for Pearrygin Lake State Park ten months in advance, but as the time approached, fires and power outages closed the park we have enjoyed with friends 14 out of the last 15 years. There were rumors of the park opening, but we headed out with four other groups to Conconully State Park, where we would await the possible opening of Pearrygin.
Here are granddaughters, Jessie and Emma taking a selfie in the back seat of our truck - they were really GREAT TRAVELING and CAMPING COMPANIONS!!!
Jessie and Elliott posing by the old log cabin
Had to get the sign in too...
From there we continued on to the KOA in Winthrop where we spent two nights...so much closer to our final destination, and fun to experience a different sort of park. Jessie and cousin Elliott got a picture of themselves for us as they were traveling partners in the back seat of the truck this time. Emma joined Wesley and Spencer with Uncle Brad and Aunt Lindsey.
We were able to get three sites together in the corner quite near the pool at the KOA with Brad's family and Gary & Margo - yes, this RV camping is NICE!!!
Nice pool at the KOA
Five of our grandkids - Jessie, Elliott, Wesley, Spencer & Emma - lined up with friend Trevor
Brad and Lindsey took them all on a 1.5 hour float down the river. Great fun!!
Grandpa and Grandma riding horses on the playground
They opened up Pearrygin Lake State Park on Wednesday, and not many people knew about it yet, so we almost had the lake to ourselves the first day!
Relaxing by the lake
