A New Year

The year 2015 was filled with doctor appointments, chemotherapy, radiation, and several fun adventures for Lon - and a few for Janet as well.  As we begin 2016, the doctor visits are much fewer and further between, since the cancer has spread to Lon's liver and he is receiving palliative care (for pain) rather than any further treatment to curb its growth.   At this point, a Hospice nurse is overseeing Lon's pain medication and checking on him weekly at home.

We have been blessed with much more time and strength than ever was expected by the doctors who have had lots of experience with this disease, and we are very thankful.  It has been a wonderful opportunity to trust in God's promises to be with us in all circumstances - and to be assured He is ultimately in control.  We have great hope for eternity through our Savior Jesus Christ!

Here are some pictures and memories from the fall of 2015...

And here was the beginning of our snow in December
Gail has been perfecting her skills running the snow blower!  The snow has really come with a vengeance again this week, and she has already run that machine twice in two days.  It looks like it may be three in a row, the way it has begun to snow again this evening!  It is stacked so high now you can barely see those light posts shown on her left in the picture.  Ah, snow...it is beautiful!!!
