It's May - and Lon's "Retired" Again

In order to have the summer off to spend time with family and get projects done, Lon needed to retire once more after working in his retirement job at Fred Meyer from October through April. He was able to be home the whole time we had our grandsons for overnight this past week while their parents went to a concert and had a little getaway with another couple. Here are the boys and Grandpa at breakfast.

and Spencer totally exhausted! (I helped him into what appeared to me to be a more comfortable position after taking the picture!)

Monday Lon left for the Smiths' home where he started his building project with Emma - a full size "playhouse" which is turning out bigger than most anticipated. Lon always seems to think, "The bigger, the better." Emma has expressed the desire to learn to be a builder, and she wanted Grandpa to teach her, so this is it! Granted, she's young, but she seems to be very bright and teachable. Here are some pictures her mom sent so I could visualize what's happening there.

I'd love to be there - sharing that time with the grandkids, but for now I have my dear Mama, and count it a blessing to be her caregiver after all she's done for me. We continue to have visitors who come mainly to see her. In the past few weeks her minister from Seattle stopped by for a visit when in town for church meetings, her niece and husband spent a couple nights as they were in town for the same conference, and on Monday another niece came bringing Mama's sister with the main purpose of giving Mama a perm and haircut. All were very welcome!

Always love to see and hear what is happening in your lives! Have a great "retirement" and those precious times with your Mom and grand kids. We too cherish those times.

Thanks for sharing!

That's a great picture of Wesley on the rock. We'll have to save that one. Thanks for watching the boys last weekend!
