First - Ketchikan

We're told most of these shops only open when the cruise ships come in.  There were three huge ships in the day we were there, to the tune of almost 9,000 people.  Some people took excursions by floatplane, kayak, tour boat, etc.  Some just wandered town checking out all the jewelry and souvenir stores.

We opted for the Duck Tour by land and by water, similar to the "Ride the Ducks" tour in Seattle.  Lots of silliness - and some good information about the area.   Here's a picture of the type of vehicle we were on.

Note the driver's hair in the first picture, and then what he looks like with his hat removed! We really thought that was his amazing hair!!
Our narrator, Rene, was really great!!  The driver got us back on land safely, so I guess he was pretty good as well.
