Encouraging News!

The results of Lon's CT scan from Friday and today's blood work were both encouraging.  His tumor marker is now down to 78, and the size of the tumor has decreased by about an inch.  The doctor was very pleased.  When trying to decipher the CT report at home last night, it didn't look so great to us, and we were thinking the worst.  It was just a sketchy report sent via email in Lon's "My Chart" connection with the clinic.  Today the doctor had more detailed information and explained the gains made over the last eight weeks (four chemo treatments.)

Carol called last night when we were trying to understand the medical language of the report and were so discouraged.  She agreed that it didn't sound good.  When I sent her a text today with the good news, she replied:  "Oh, I'm so glad!  I was hoping we were way too dumb to decipher the test results yesterday!  Yay, we are!"  :-)

Since the treatment and God are working together to fight the tumor, with pain relief as a wonderful result, Lon will be continuing the same regimen every two weeks.  He just finished treatment #5 today at the clinic here in Wenatchee, with a pump on until Thursday.  His side effects have been much diminished over the last two weeks - a great blessing!  The blood clot we reported about last time is being controlled by increased injections of blood thinner medication.  We are learning more than we ever wanted to about all this, but we are trusting in our faithful Lord to give strength and hope.
