I'm not sure about using the word "anniversary" to describe where we are in this journey, since I usually think of it connected with celebrating something. It has been NINE MONTHS since Lon's first round of chemo on August 27, 2013. Except for one delay of a week due to our trip to Israel and Jordan, he has undergone it every other week since that time. It hasn't been fun, and it is a bit less so each time.
However, he has been allowed NINE MONTHS (thinking positively!) to think through what is important in life, to make some trips, and to get together with friends and family - all with his pain level reduced from pretty severe in August to almost no pain these days.
We are thankful for God's provision and for revealing some things from His Word that encourage us and give us strength. We have scheduled more adventures over the summer and are trusting God for the future.
