Round 24 - Rejoicing in Hope

Lon just completed his 24th round of chemo today.  His tumor marker number was up one point from last time - not the direction we would like to see it heading, but at least it is going very slowly.  There really isn't a lot of news since our doctor visit two weeks before, so I didn't post anything right away;  then I realized there were some who look here to find out how he's doing, so here it is.

We both have been just a bit discouraged this week by how LONG he has been undergoing this treatment.  BUT, about the time he feels discouraged, he mentions that he is grateful to still be alive and able to do all he has been able to do.  We have a camping trip coming up soon with people we dearly love and whose company we enjoy.  He, Brad and Aaron Anderson have a scuba diving trip to Hawaii planned for September - so anticipating those kinds of things really keep him going!!

Among other topics, the Bible studies at church have been emphasizing being a "Romans 12" Christian, what "Faith" means, and "Rejoicing in Hope."  All are so meaningful to us right now, drawing us closer to the Lord in our walk of faith and giving us an eternal perspective.

Thanks for your continuing encouragement and prayers for us.
