It has been over two months since our last post, due to the busyness of just living and celebrating a couple holidays - but also due to more health challenges.
We had a lovely Thanksgiving at our home with both stateside children and their families, and then we were joined later in the day by Lon's brother Gary's family - three sons, daughters-in-law and Gary & Margo's three grandsons, as well as our son-in-law's parents and our daughter-in-law's parents! It was a wonderful crowd for the Seahawks win over SF!!

Early in December Lon started having difficulty keeping food down, losing a lot of weight and needing to have IV hydration a couple times. The decision was made to interrupt chemo treatments and have a stent inserted in his duodenum (on Dec. 23rd) to alleviate a stricture, allowing him to resume eating some solid foods. We were able to travel to Carol & Toby's in Redmond the very next day and attend their Christmas Eve Candle Light Service, in which both Emma and Jessie were participants. We spent two nights with them - so special to be included in their family's Christmas traditions. Brad & Lindsey's family joined us on Christmas Day, spending a night with all of us as well. Lon was able to eat with some limitations and to enjoy time with the kids and grand kids.
Ha! I was going to add Christmas pictures here, but it seems they are still on my phone - not downloaded to the computer yet, so they might have to come later. It has taken me long enough to do this, I dare not wait any longer.
On December 30th Lon received his 35th treatment of chemotherapy - and another drug was introduced to try to knock down the climbing tumor marker number. On New Year's Eve day we were both tired and discouraged, but during our devotional time on the morning of January 1, 2015, we both acknowledge what an amazingly blessed year 2014 was for us - so many people in our lives, such amazing grace of God to allow us so much quality time doing things Lon loves, and an increased awareness of His presence in our lives, giving us strength and comfort.
