Marching into Spring

Our month started out delightfully with some times of enjoyment of our long-awaited granddaughter, Lielti.  Brad has been visiting us on his extended lunch hour once a week for the last few months when his schedule allows, and he has brought Lielti with him a couple times now.  We are finding ways to connect in spite of the language barrier.

This week we made a quick trip for an overnight visit with two of Lon's college buddies. Borrowing Brad & Lindsey's van to accommodate more people, Bud drove, taking Laurie and us to Portland where we picked up the couple who flew up from Fresno, CA.  There were four ("IV" - see Rich's tattoo in their honor) guys who did lots of memorable things together back in the 1960's while attending school in El Cerrito, CA.  They were Frank Krueger, Clint Kneeland, Rich Noland and Lon Posenjak.  Frank, who was to be Lon's best man, was taken home to be with the Lord while in the Army - right before our wedding in 1968, but his brother Bud is well acquainted with the guys, so he is standing in for Frank at this little reunion.

The pictures were taken at Rich & Peggy's home in Salem.
Behind us is a redwood tree they planted over 40 years ago - it's massive now!!!

This was a very special time!!

Back to reality...Lon had a CT scan this morning, so we will get the results of that on Tuesday, the 24th, along with another chemo treatment.  After that we will welcome Gail home from PNG.  More about those happenings in the next post.
